PTE Listening Section - Tips

Important Tips for the Listening Section:

Important Tips for the Listening Section:

* Listen Attentively! Don’t let your mind wander.

* Take notes! You aren’t going to remember everything that was said, so make sure you have made sufficient notes but while making notes you need to only jot down the key words and not long sentences as then you would be missing out on listening whats coming up next.

* Practice listening daily. This will make your brain tuned to understanding the accent of the speaker. In the PTE exam, you will hear a variety of accents spoken across the globe – Australian, British, American, New Zealand, Canadian – just to name a few! So it is important to be comfortable with as many as you can.

* You will hear the recording only ONCE so make sure you understand what is being said.

* Always go with the meaning of the spoken text and do not try to match the words from the options as there would be a trap.

* Plan your time efficiently as you would get 23 - 28 mins for 15-22 items (Leaving aside the 1st question type - Summarize Spoken Text as that is separately timed).

Happy Listening :-)
